So I convinced my mom to go biking with me.
She has not been on a bike for 50+ years. She says she truly doesn't remember the last time she has been on a bike. I told her that I have this memory of going to kindergarten with her on bicycle, but she denies it. (then who took me to kindergarten on bike?)
anyways.
I was actually not that hopeful about her going. I wasn't going to push it too much.
She is very scared, and worried, and little bit stressed out with all the coordination of family reunion.
When I asked her this morning, she said "no" and I was just going with my dad.
Then, somehow she came out with her backpack and work out clothes. (Yeah..!!)
We pushed our bike through busy streets (she is too scared to ride in town) and it took us almost 20 min, but we made it to the bike lane! Three of us rode bike from our MRT station to the next one (maybe 1 -1.5 km)! The view was nice, not too hot, and we took a lot of pictures.
I was just so proud of my mom that she was able to overcome her fear to do it! On the other hand, my dad was acting like a very happy 12 years old, going ahead of us, and trying to go up and down very steep hills... It was fun.
I honestly do not remember the last time 3 of us just had fun like this ...
It's so important to be able to play together. yup.
On the way home, all three of us kinda got crazy with buying snack...
(i got Yung-he soy milk, rice ball. Mom got onion pan cake. Dad got taiwan short banana.)
We were all very happy!
Tonight, we'll be joined by my brother and sister in law. Also, we are having another surprise birthday party for dad at a restaurant. Logistics are nightmare with all these relatives... but it's okay. this is part of fun with family reunion...
p.s.
i finally got my feet eaten by little fish! it was so cute and funny... They really do crowd around your feet, and it feels very ticklish. My aunt is officially addicted. She cannot stay away.
