TWA - OT Joshua 14

I've been wondering how old Joshua was when he entered promise land... and I think I found my clue today.

Caleb was 40 years old when he spied the promised land... that's means Joshua is about the same age, or maybe older than him... Caleb is 85 years old at this time when they have entered the promise land.

And to think that anyone above 20 years old had died during the 40 years of wondering... that makes this "Joshua Generation" age group to be... under 60 years old! And their leaders are like 80+ years old! Whenever I hear people talk about "Joshua Generation" I felt like it's a youth movement... but today I find that it's not about age.

So what's the characteristic of "Joshua Gen"?
From my observation (and it's not a comprehensive list)
1. They are innocent of grumbling
2. They wholly followed the Lord (Caleb was a good example)
3. They were in warfare mode
4. They consciously set themselves apart (circumcise before entering promise land, Sanctifying themselves before the miracles etc.)

I thought #3 is interesting, to be aware that we are in warfare.
Because a group of soldiers need to keep their spirit high.
They will check their attitude and always be ready for the battle.
Discouraged and negative troop will not win the battle...

We are praying for the Joshua Generation to rise up.
And I want to be counted among them! I am not young, but I'm only half way to 60 years old!
I want to see His kingdom come, His promises come true!

and just like Caleb, no matter how 'mature' I get, I want to be able to say...
v.8 "heart of people melt, but I wholly follow the Lord."
v.10-11 "I am xx years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that (Moses) sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in."
v.12 "... it may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said."

Praise the Lord! yeay!

Keep our heart young for God! Doesn't matter how old we are, God loves us all the same.

Thanks for the sharing, now I understand better of what I've been reading!

Lord answers my prayers of learning from the wiser ones.

Add oil, Mary! Continue to shine for the Lord!
